Martha’s Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Imagine if you could turn banana bread into a cookie. Wait. You don’t need to! Try making a batch of Martha’s Banana Oatmeal Cookies and you’ll get to experience the ‘banana bread cookie’ magic. You’ll immediately fall in love with the chewy chocolatey goodness just like I did.

Harold and Martha are cousins of my grandpa and have been like grandparents to me since I attended college just 45 minutes away from their house. They took me in and became my home-away-from-home while I was in school. Martha was the most spectacular hostess anyone could imagine. Dinner was always followed by a sweet treat before board or card games took over the table. Breakfast would be set out on the counter for anyone to enjoy at their leisure as they woke up and wandered into the kitchen. These cookies served as both after-dinner dessert as well as breakfast the next morning.
